I'm Shani,
nice to meet you.
I am a UI/UX designer with particular interests in new technologies, prototyping with code, accessibility, and digital health.
I graduated from RISD in 2021, where I majored in Graphic Design and minored in Computation, Technology, and Culture, and had the opportunity to design digital products and experiences across a range of devices, including web, mobile, VR, and wearables. I now work as an interactive designer at Neoscape, designing accessible websites, apps, and eBlasts for various clients.
I enjoy bringing my ideas to life with traditional design tools, such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Balsamiq, as well as utilizing programming languages and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Processing/p5.js, Arduino, and Unity.

How I got started in design and technology
I developed an interest in graphic design at a young age, mainly due to my obsession with rock music and fascination with album covers. Learning HTML and CSS at school piqued my interest in technology, and I soon discovered UI/UX and began expanding my skill set independently.
What I've been working on
During my time at the Rhode Island School of Design, I honed my visual and UI/UX design skills and broadened my experience in prototyping with code by taking classes in front-end web development, creative coding, physical computing, and VR.
Where possible, I also try to incorporate elements of social impact and healthcare into my work. I became interested in healthcare and social impact after participating in the National Citizen Service summer program in London, during which I volunteered at a care home for people living with dementia. I have since designed and prototyped various websites, apps, VR experiences, and wearable devices that address similar issues.
